Part of Series

When a stray mutt is rescued from the Dog Pound he never imagines he’s destined for stardom. Celebrity he can handle, but being a Timeshare dog, a pooch for four upmarket Yuppies, if that’s what people still call them… now that could be tricky! Elliott tells his quirky tale in his own words – clever dog! Rescued from Barranyup Dog Pound, somewhere hot and dusty, way out west in the boondocks of New South Wales, Australia, Elliott soon discovers all the comforts of a Sydney Harbour-side lifestyle. Snooty dog-grooming salons, and even smart beachside cafes that welcome dogs! Suddenly he’s a Timeshare dog, shared between two smart professional couples. But imagine Elliott’s surprise when he finds himself being groomed to be a TV star. Why have they picked an ordinary rescue dog like him, he wonders. Can he resist being yuppified? What hasn’t changed is Elliott’s crazy sense of humour! There’s his sarcastic take on his four new glossy Metro owners thanks to his secret ability to understand everything that’s said to him and also his strange knack of being able to read auras. Elliott has lots of scrapes negotiating the plotting and scheming of Jamie, the Alpha Male in his human pack. But worst for him is realising that he has begun to tell lies, just like humans do. Has he become a bad dog? Does this mean he’ll end up being sent back to the that awful Dog Pound? That’s his constant nagging fear. All this gives Elliott a lot to think about, and his humorous commentary lets us into the secret world of dogs. And like any regular mutt, Elliott’s main motivations are survival, food, shelter and Yeah, ok – love. If you like a funny dog story to laugh with, one with a surprising twist in the tale, you’ll love how Elliott morphs from Mutt to Mega-Star in REALITY BARKS. It’s a cheeky non-p.c. laugh for adult dog lovers.
