The Bristle Park Murders

2017

Elizabeth Shea has one goal: be promoted to Series Crimes with the Sacramento Police Department. At twenty-five, she’s the youngest detective in her department’s history—a position she’s lived for—but instead of advancement she’s relegated to “binky squad.” When a high-profile murder case ends up on her boss’s desk, Shea thinks everything’s about to change; that is until she’s assigned a babysitting detail in a regency themed resort called Bristol Park. Despite being frustrated with her boss, her empire-waist dress, her lack of regency knowledge, and being unarmed, she’s determined to do her best. Things are going well until one of the actors begins to pester her, she starts to fall for another, and she discovers the woman in her care really is in danger. With her charge’s life, her career, and her heart at stake, Shea’ll have to be on her guard 24/7 to get the happy ending she hopes for and discover who is behind the Bristol Park murders.

A Clean Romantic Mystery, Suspense, & Thriller Series of Classic Retellings

2018

They thought he was dead . . .Now they’ll never see him coming. When 18-year-old Patrick Daley arrives home in Sacramento with his traveling circus, he’s desperate to look into his mother’s missing person case. After a reckless attempt to shine a big, obnoxious light on her disappearance, Patrick finally gets the help he’s wanted. It’s not until he’s kidnapped, and thrown into a Siberian work camp, that he discovers how close he was to solving his mom’s case. Ten years later, with revenge in his heart and a fortune hidden in a secret account gifted to him by a spiritual, old coot, Patrick escapes and finds his way home. He’s all set to face the men who betrayed him until he meets the girl he left behind all those years ago. As a girl, Elizabeth Shea had a high moral code—as a woman, she wears a badge. Proceeding as planned will not only cost him his freedom, but the one person whose memory gave him the strength to survive the unthinkable. A Ghost in Sacramento

2018

After three years of working as a Detective with the 35th Precinct, Elizabeth Shea is finally starting to feel like she belongs. So, when the Serious Crimes Unit gets assigned to take down the Tourneau Cartel, she’s not worried; that is until she’s cut off from her team and shot. Being a cop has its risks, but the last thing she expected was to become a ghost. If she’s still here, she must have unfinished business. But that doesn’t explain why she can’t get more than a block away from a questionable psychic she saw on TV. Patrick Daley hates pretending to be a psychic, but having signed a contract years before, he’s bound to make television appearances every few months. Plus, being “psychic” has been invaluable in his work with the Feds. Just because he can’t see beyond the grave doesn’t mean that his power of deduction isn’t useful. However, when the two-year anniversary of his wife’s death passes, he finds faking psychic is way more than he can handle. After blowing off a consultation with the Sacramento Police Department, he’s inadvertently placed on a path he never expected. All he wants is to be left alone. Unfortunately, the little brunette ghost following him around has other ideas. In the third installment in the Reboot Mystery series, Patrick Daley and Elizabeth Shea get their memories wiped once more. And that’s not the only thing weird happening in this paranormal romantic mystery. (Can be read as a standalone.) A Christian ghost romance with a murder mystery twist. If you liked the films Ghost and Just Like Heaven than this is the book for you. What readers are ★★★★★ “A medley of mind games let one bad actor walk away. The Heir of Thornfield Manor

2019

Even though Detective Elizabeth Shea worked with the feds on a case a year before, the last thing she expects is to be requested on a murder case in a rural California town called Thornfield. Almost three years after Katelyn Daley was murdered in her home, without any leads, the case went cold—until a week ago when a doctor was killed in the same execution style as her. Now with new leads, the Feds need Elizabeth to go undercover in Thornfield Manor and watch over its heir, Patrick Daley—the widower and ex-psychic who sometimes consults with the Feds, and with whom she feels an inexplicable bond. Elizabeth’s job seems pretty straightforward—make sure Daley stays out of trouble until the case is solved. But, the more she learns, the more complicated it becomes. The police work on Katelyn’s murder was shoddy at best with lost evidence, missing witnesses and suspects, and a timeline that doesn’t quite add up. And that doesn’t even include the creepy laughter drifting through the manor’s halls at night or the attempt on Patrick’s life. If this case keeps going as is, Elizabeth is at risk of losing much more than she ever expected—her heart, her job, and possibly the life of the man she never meant to love. Despite having their minds rebooted for the fourth time, Elizabeth Shea and Patrick Daley are drawn to each other like never before as they face crooked cops, assassins, and a mysterious woman in their midst in this contemporary retelling of Jane Eyre. (Can be read as a standalone.) A small-town Christian romantic suspense you won’t want to put down! What readers are “All of Ellie's contemporary reboot books are wonderful and this latest did not disappoint! Clean, suspenseful and fun, I recommend it!” – Katie Miner “I love this series, and this story made me love it even more! The reboot of Jane Eyre required some clever reimagining to fit into the modern era, and the author definitely delivered. The clues to the overarching plot at the beginning were as intriguing as ever, and the murder mystery was captivating. I can’t wait for more!” – Diane M “I think this is my favorite so far, but it's close . . . the tension and chemistry between Patrick and Elizabeth is perfection. Also a suspenseful mystery with a great cast of suspects. Can't wait for the next one!” – K. Lubbers “Great thriller. The story has you entertained throughout, and towards the end, it's hard to put it down. A real nail biter!” – Dave Holcomb Scroll up to buy this book!

Ellie Thornton is an award-winning author who has been writing since she could lift a pencil and making up stories even longer than that. For years she worked part-time jobs so she would always have time to write, read, and travel. Some of her favorite filler jobs include working as an editor, at a nursery (flowers not children,) as a driving instructor (not as harrowing as one might think,) writing a blog called Confessions of a Property Manager, and being a ghost tour guide. She loves mysteries (reading and writing them) and especially enjoys the ones with sweet romance involved. Her "Reboot Mystery Series," (Previously known as "The Contemporary Reboot Series,") is a mystery series that takes classics like "Pride and Prejudice," "The Count of Monte Cristo," "Jane Eyre," and "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" puts them in a modern setting and adds a murder mystery and a love story that builds from one book to the next. (Not an easy feat!) She's currently super into honey and beeswax and everything bee related as she is writing a book for Gelato Publishing's Halloween Sweet Romance Series, "Pumpkins and Proposals." Her main character is a beekeeper and owns a business that's all about honey, and beeswax related products. And again, because she loves a good mystery, you'll also find some intrigue there too. She also writes a writing, editing, and marketing blog for authors under the name Emily Clark called Write of Passages. If she's not at her computer, you can typically find her reading, listening to podcasts, at the local library, in her garden, in her kitchen, or with her sister and her sister's kids.
