Stephen Westlake is more than just a vampire. He's the Society's Regulator. The Society needs a new chief scientist and Stephen has to find one. Piece of cake, right? Sure. Except when she turns out to be your new mate, too. Disgruntled scientist Angela Heissman races against her biological clock to find a test for the anemia that killed her mother before she succumbs to her own. So after a foiled kidnapping that has something to do with her new serum, she couldn't be less interested in dealing with a new man. Especially not one who says he's a vampire. Angela doesn't believe in vampires, until Stephen proves it in living color. Then her scientist mind wants to test out this new reality, but her body just wants to test out Stephen. What do a nine hundred year old, cowboy vampire and a adorably geeky scientist have in common? Everything.

Brenda Bryce has been married to the same wonderful man for half her life. He gave her three children during that time. As time passed and the children grew, Brenda took up writing to give her a little ‘me’ time. She also loves crochet and knitting and reads to the dismay of her husband, who is tired of tripping over piles of books and yarn. She spent 4 years in the U.S. Army when she was young and is very proud to have served her country. As a transplant to Southern California she has learned to love the desert and 100+ degree heat - it is a ‘dry’ heat, you know - and the sunsets are worth it.
