After the traumatic and chaotic conclusion of the investigation into Samantha McAllister's death, Sally Yates finds herself demoted and pushing papers at New Scotland Yard. Meanwhile, in the English Midlands, a highly respected senior officer goes missing, and the team investigating his disappearance is nowhere close to finding him or the perpetrators.
