Jess is busy doing what he does best, hunting down the worst of men and collecting their souls and the bounty on their heads, when he get an emergency wire from his hometown, Black Creek, Kansas. The News is horribly grim, and he becomes filled with hate and rage at the news about Annie McCracken’s murder at the hands of the three Bowen Brothers. He returns to Black Creek and sets out to hunt down the Bowen brothers, and as he does, he feels an evil presence enveloping him. Someone is trying to kill him, but he had no idea of whom or what it is and he won’t let it stop him from his goal of making the Bowen brothers pay for what they did. His hunt turns deadly and bloody as he trails the brothers through Kansas and Texas. In the end, he is forced to do something even he thought he would never do, but he is given no choice in the matter. He chooses to continue doing what he does best and hunt down the worst of men and not let the devil collect his soul,
