Riley E. Smith is a devotee of Harley Quinn and Jane Austen. She writes and reads everything, with a specialty in smart-talking antiheroes and strong-willed women across genres. She was brought up in Arizona on a combination of Resident Evil movies and Barnes and Noble classics. She attended Rice University and Cambridge University, where she said she was studying English but really studied Bugs Bunny and comedy in general. After college, she spent a few years working soulless, frustrating corporate jobs, but daily crying in bathrooms convinced her freelance writing was a better career path.
