The ties that bind… Can be murder. It’s amateur sleuth Eve Foster’s birthday, and her best friend Tiana has planned a surprise party for her at Lake of Pints, the only bar in her new hometown of Granite, Michigan. A good time is had by all…until someone slips her a note asking for help. Distracted by the festivities, Eve doesn’t read the note until morning, and by then, it’s too late. A young man has been murdered, and his brother is missing somewhere in the state forest that surrounds the town. Working with her dogs and a few other volunteers from Michigan Mutts Search and Aid, they locate the missing man, but the murder of his brother remains unsolved. Feeling a responsibility to dig up the truth, Eve decides to do some investigating of her own. Can she crack the case and bring a killer to justice?
