Nobody knew better than Sam Watchman how to track down a runaway prisoner. Sam was an Arizona State Trooper and hunting escaped murderers was just another day's work. But he didn't like it because the escaped prisoner, Joe Threepersons, was an Apache. And Sam was a Navajo so Sam could expect no help from the Apaches. Then Sam found out there was a lot more terror on the loose than one runaway prisoner armed with a .375 magnum rifle. The search for Joe Threepersons was covering something much nastier and much deadlier. And Sam was in the way.
