Part of Series

Savannah is on her way to Carson City to become a school teacher but falls ill on the train. Dr. David Baker notices how unwell she is, and knows she won't survive the remainder of the trip and insists on taking her off the train when they arrive in Denver where he's purchased a building to open his own medical practice. He secures lodging for Savannah at the Broad Street Boarding house and continues to check in on her until she's fully recovered. Since her plans to go to Carson City are no longer an option, Savannah has to find employment in Denver and asks Dr. Baker if he needs someone to cook, clean, and help out with his patients. Once they start working together, Dr. Baker realizes she's more than just a former patient. She's kind, beautiful, and a gifted assistant. Can he convince her to be a part of his life forever, or will the trauma from her past keep them apart?
