Deals made with demons are not easily broken. Arthur Burris spends his birthday celebrating with his friends, unaware that a century of safety is coming to an end. For an ancient deal is resurfacing and a Hunter smells blood. Soon Arthur finds himself fighting for more than just his life, aided only by mysterious American Nancy Mullins, Raphael, the angelic voice in her head and the notorious "Playing Card Killer". Together they must evade that which hunts them, as well as Theodore Green, head of a murderous cult, and find a way to break an ancient deal.
