Safety In Numbers

2015

“Bro’s stick together no matter what.” When Chris and Liam made that promise, they had no idea how important it would become or how it would be tested in the most brutal way. Nine years later, their bond cemented in blood, that relationship is all they have to hold onto. Or is it? “No matter what happens, this friendship will be the one constant we can count on.” When Billy and Owen made that promise, they knew exactly how dangerous the world could be. They survived prison by protecting each other and they survived freedom by holding that promise sacred. Now they wanted more, not from each other, but from the brothers who were reluctant to let anyone into their bond. “We are stronger together than we’ll ever be apart.” Self-sacrifice was nothing new to Chris and he refused to be as vulnerable as the men looking to him for support. He just wasn’t sure if he was the leader they believed him to be. Can he give Owen the strength to break through his fears? Can he show Billy that he isn't defined by his past? Can he break his silence without destroying the brother he risked his life to protect? Or is the real question: Who will save Chris?

His Premier

2016

Born into wealth and privilege, Colin Sinclair was raised on the knowledge that money could buy anything and everyone had a price. Trouble was no trouble at all, not when the money was there to sweep it under the rug. But those lessons, learned at the knee of his father, were going to be challenged in a way that would change Colin forever. In middle class suburbia, Arnaud Dechene learned the value of hard work, focus, and dedication to a dream. He was well on his way to achieving it, the role of Premier, when he catches Colin’s eye. Rich snobs didn’t usually do it for him, but there was something about Colin that made him impossible to resist. Despite being opposites in every way, falling into a relationship was surprisingly—and deceptively—easy, but Arnaud never lost sight of his dream and Colin had trouble accepting that he was second place to anything. When a stupid argument leads to a reckless act, the repercussions leave Arnaud fighting for his life and Colin paying with his own. With a little meddling from an aging schemer and intentions that are more well-meaning than realistic, their paths will cross again. However, Colin and Arnaud aren’t the same men who loved with abandon. They are older and wiser, with a history that might be too big to overcome. Fans of the series know revenge is a double-edged sword, forgiveness doesn't always come easy, and forgetting is damn near impossible. But love...well, that may just conquer all.

But before they can have the wedding of their dreams, they’ll have to call the family they left behind. With the best of intentions and no shortage of tears, Chris and Owen will be reminded that no matter where they go or what they do, their family will always support their decisions. Our Reason

2017

Married life is everything Bull and Red could have hoped for. It’s not something they’d ever take for granted and the need to pay it forward is a trait the husbands happily share. When the new director of the Bennett House asks Red to teach an art class, he isn’t entirely sure how it will help, but he’s more than willing to try. Before Bull, he used his art to purge his demons and sharing that with those in need of an outlet for their own pain was a gift he never considered giving. Each week he is rocked by the artful outpouring of emotion and the gratitude of his students. One by one, they burrow into his heart…but none more so than Dillon Young. Always holding himself apart from the others, the wisp of a boy keeps his head down and hides behind a mangy, overgrown length of dark hair like a shield. Despite his best attempts not to see himself in all the young men that come through the center, everything about Dillon calls out to Red. Needing to share their encounters, and maybe hoping for a little perspective, he turns to the one man he knows he can always count on. Expecting Bull to be the voice of reason had been a fool’s mission from the start and soon they’re both invested in helping Dillon. There’s no doubt they have an abundance of love to share and if ever there was someone who needed it, Dillon was the one. Between Bull’s strength and Red’s patience, they’ll help Dillon learn to trust again, and in the process, create a family that none of them intended. Though they never envisioned themselves as parents, Bull and Red will find room in their happily ever after to save the child they didn’t know lived in their hearts. Authors Note: Our Reason references instances of past abuse.

With the prospect of leaving the chosen families homeless—and not just for the holidays—Owen will do the one thing that scares him the most. Ask his loved ones for help. Though he’s never had the nerve before, there’s no doubt they’ll agree, and together, they will build homes filled with hope and the foundation for the future. The culmination is every reason Owen began building houses in the first place and having his family's support only makes the job better. There’s only one thing missing, but Owen can’t think about that and still get the job done. Creating Perfection

2019

Billy and Liam are ready to put the past behind them so they can start enjoying their future. They had a solid plan too. Work through Liam’s fears with a recommended therapist, get married, and then find a surrogate to have their baby. When their new friend Micah offers an alternative—one that’s almost too good to be true—it’s hard to wait, but they know how important it is to do the steps in order. Especially that first one. Cam and Corey had a plan too. While they were in college, a medical scare convinced them to freeze their eggs for the future and in the years since, they built a solid foundation for the family they wished to have. Now they need someone to help them complete the picture, but they want more than just a sperm donor—they want their children to have a father. Or two. Down the road, these eager parents-to-be would be perfect for one another. But plans change. For Cam and Corey, waiting is no longer an option and while they’re willing to move forward with a donor if they have too, they still have one last chance to get what they want. For Billy and Liam, saying yes is a huge risk, but after hearing the women’s story, no just isn’t an option. Suddenly, the future is now, and with their dreams growing into reality, this chosen family will become one worth being born into. Author's Note: Creating Perfection is the sequel to Safety in Numbers and Deciding on Forever, and cannot be read as a standalone.

Like many readers, the dream of being a writer has been with me a long time. After three decades of trying, I'd begun to doubt. Thanks to social media, I followed my favorite authors hoping to glean some words of wisdom as I pounded out half-formed ideas with alarming regularity. Two repetitive themes emerged: To be a great writer you must read a lot and your butt must be in the chair every day like it's a job. The more you write, the easier it will be to write and the better you will be at writing. I took that advice to heart and write every day. With three series in the works and counting, it's been amazing to have made this dream my reality. I am a firm believer in marriage equality, love at first sight, power dynamics and happily ever after. I'm a lover of strong secondary characters and series filled with families, biological or chosen. All are themes you'll find throughout my books.
