Gregor's Run

The Universe is too Small to Hide

2016

A young human male orphaned by the death of his adopted father struggles to survive in a universe that offers little more than despair. He’s forced to scrub booster tubes on commercial starships to make enough coins to feed his alcohol addiction in his dirty day-to-day existence. The future looks dark and is getting darker. To make matters worse, he discovers that two very powerful forces are attempting to capture him and he has no clue why. One of them is the Venzel Dragons, who are recognized as the most deadly warriors in the known universe. The other is a secretive organization simply known as the Movement. Gregor just can’t figure out why they’re after him and remaining free is quickly disappearing as an option. He has no choice but to run and try to determine why he is being pursued across the known universe. He has no memory of his childhood or where he was born and before he can make sense of everything, he would need to go back to Earth and find out who he really is. What he finds changes his world completely and learning that his adopted father was assassinated makes him resolve to make the killers pay for their actions. But what could a filthy, alcoholic bum do against the two most powerful forces in the known universe? The answer lies on the forest world of Bellingham and according to the Cartian Database, no one has gone to that planet in more than six hundred years and lived. Gregor’s Run will keep you guessing at all the twists and turns as Gregor struggles to find himself in a universe gone insane. Excerpt: Gregor’s Run Gregor looked around the gathering, “Some of ye give it a go.” A warrior standing next to Gregor shook his head, “I think it’s clear that swords will not go through that thing.” Gregor said loudly, “All of ye agree that swords are useless against this force field.” The warriors all looked at each other and nodded. “Now if that piece of wood inside the force field was holding a blaster and ye were close enough to strike the force field, ye would die. All of ye see that.” Again the warriors looked at each other and were forced to agree with Gregor. Gregor turned and said, “Now, I want the archers to move back ten yards and fire at that piece of wood like it’s an enemy coming to harm ye families. I want ye to move back in case the arrows you shoot bounce off towards ye.” Several male warriors and ten females moved back ten yards and formed a line. Ellie was one of the archers and she lifted her bow and pulled an arrow out of her quiver. The arrow flew toward the target at a speed that was difficult to see but, when it bounced off the force field, everyone saw it penetrate the canoe twenty yards further up the beach. Everyone immediately moved back another ten yards. The archers didn’t give up as easily as the swordsmen. They fired arrow after arrow at the target and arrows were ricocheting in all directions. Finally, all of them stopped firing except for Ellie. Gregor saw the anger on her face and she started screaming as each arrow failed to penetrate the force field. Gregor sighed and saw her frustration getting the better of her. She jumped and slammed her elbows down to her sides as she stamped both feet into the sand. She screamed at the top of her voice and ran toward the force field. Gregor yelled, “NO, ELLIE! STOP!!” Ellie arrived at the force field, jerked the last arrow out of her quiver, and screamed as she threw it at the wooden target. The arrow went through the force field and stuck in the center of the target. Gregor’s mouth fell open as he heard the computer say over the link, “What the hell just happened here!”

A Pirate's Tale

The Only Solution is Retribution

2016

Leonidas Piper watched from the surface of Jergan as the warship he was serving on with his best friend was blasted into rubble by John Blakely’s Pirate Fleet. That warship was all they had left after the Unity Government disbanded their mercenary legion. Now nothing remained of it but gas and debris in orbit above Jergan. Two years later fate stepped in again; Leonidas was on a commercial Starliner traveling to Kellinger when it was stopped and boarded by a crew of pirates led by John Blakely. Blakely murdered three passengers but failed to acquire the code to open the Starliner’s safe. He was forced to leave empty handed. Leonidas is approached after the attack by a young woman offering to pay him to go after and kill Blakely for the murder of two of her family members, which is exactly what Leonidas was planning all along; he owed Blakely for Mark’s death. However, things get complicated quickly when he learns the identity of this passenger, along with the contents of the wall safe. In no time at all, he and his benefactor are running for their lives and escape doesn’t look good. A Pirate’s Tale takes place in the Filament Universe and it doesn’t take long to determine that knowing who the good and bad guys are is nearly impossible. The twists and turns will keep you guessing and leave you wondering if the 'Only Solution is Retribution'. Excerpt: A Pirate’s Tale The tall pirate turned to the man, “Serge, I need the code to open the safe.” The man raised his chin and said defiantly, “I won’t give it to you. Too many families have trusted me with their life savings and I’ll not betray them. Kill me if you must but I will not give you the code.” The pirate walked over in front of the middle aged man and shook his index finger at Serge, “Tisk, tisk! I wouldn’t be so stupid as to kill you. Then, how would I get the code.” Serge smiled, “Exactly!” The pirate suddenly pulled a dagger out of a scabbard on his belt, moved forward, and jammed it into the top of the woman’s head standing next to Serge. It penetrated all the way to the hilt and the woman fell right where she was standing without making a sound. Serge’s mouth went wide open as one of the young girls standing next to him fell to the floor on top of the dead woman wailing and sobbing. The Pirate shook his head, “Serge, Serge, Serge, why does it have to be like this? The next one to die will be one of your daughters here and if that doesn’t work, I’ll have her baby brought down from the nursery and continue this exercise. Why don’t you save me the trouble and just give me the code.” A Pirate’s Tale will keep you spinning as Leonidas travels the filaments in search of retribution against a deadly adversary. Sit back and ride the filaments as the Pirate Ship Thermopylae struggles to survive in a dangerous galaxy filled with villains and aliens beyond your wildest imagination.

They are the life blood of every civilization that trades with distant civilizations. However, sometimes traders are not the only ones that shows up knocking at your door. The citizens of Heaven lived in peace for more than a thousand years but are invaded and occupied by a highly aggressive civilization that comes through the filament intersection close to their planet. Interstellar War on the filaments breaks out and will keep you turning pages as bestselling author Saxon Andrew takes you into the Filament Universe to meet new characters confronting an unstoppable foe. The action is fast paced and the twists will keep you guessing at what’s coming next. Buckle in and go to full boosters as Heaven faces Hell rushing toward it at incredible speed in indestructible Warships. Review of a Pirate's Tale I really liked the story and his style By Amazon Customer on September 19, 2016 Format: Kindle Edition I just discovered Saxon Andrew a week ago when I read "Gregor's Run". I really liked the story and his style. I immediately got "A Pirates' Tale". Another great read. I think that I hit the mother load with this author. His story telling reminds me of an author that I read many years ago, E.E. Doc Smith. His heroes are decisive and intuitive. No hand wringing when they have to dispatch a bad guy. Operate with honor and integrity. Loyal to their friends and allies. The stories move fast with intrigue and plot twists. The Sci-Fi is more Fi than Sci, but that frees his imagination and he takes advantage of it. If you are a purist about the science, go read a textbook. His stories are feel good adventures, so if you are into dark, depressing reading, go elsewhere. He creates some impossible spots for his characters to be in, but resolves the issues in clever ways. The problem is that I have been binge reading and not getting stuff done. It is like eating potato chips. The best part is that he has written a lot of books, and I plan to read every one. P.S. If you really like profanity in your books, skip this one. This author keeps the language clean (God bless him)

The Death Filament

Some Places Should Be Avoided

2017

From the number one bestselling author, Saxon Andrew comes the next book in the Filament Universe. The forces from the Combined Planets have defeated the Tronan Warships sent to investigate the disappearance of one of their vessels. However, the cost was high, the planet Heaven was destroyed. Now the thousands of survivors have resettled on Bellingham and know that the size of the next Tronan investigation would not be just a few hundred warships. Admiral Embree’s Fleet has been sent to hold position just outside Tronan Territory to give advanced warning of the next invasion and time was growing short for the Combined Planet’s forces to build enough forces to take them on. It’s estimated they have three or four years before the Tronan respond to their lost squadron. But building enough warships to take on the most dangerous vessels ever seen is a daunting task. Only vessels coated in Bellingham's impenetrable metal will be able to stand up to the Tronan Warships and constructed enough in time before the Tronan arrive just isn't possible. . Sam Oliver has been placed in overall command of the Combined Forces Military and he knows time is not on his side. This time the Tronan were coming and he expects them to be bringing their giant warrior transports with them. Planets were going to die unless something changed. Gregor is tasked with stopping any invasion of a planet but his forces will be heavily outnumbered and building the transports to move them cannot be completed in time. The giant filament that ran from the Tronan Empire to the Combined planets was named the Death Filament. Death was coming on it and making sure it was the Tronan that died just didn’t look like it was remotely possible. The action picks up as Sam and his fellow Warriors of the Sword are faced with the reality of a universe filled with Tronan Warships above all civilized planets. Would Bellingham be the only refuge from the onslaught? The ‘Stories From the Filament Universe’ continues and will be hard to put down. Excerpt from The Death Filament: The Second looked at the data being sent from the Doggets and contacted the Fleet Director, “The Doggets have detected a large electronic signature emanating from the other side of the central star.” “What?” “We’re not able to see what is causing it but my Science Director says it’s strong enough to be coming from a planet.” “Send Doggets out to confirm it,” the Fleet Director ordered. “The filament ends on this side of the star, Fleet Director, and the Doggets would have to leave the filament and fly over or below the star to see what’s on the other side. That would take at least two days at their maximum speed. Are you willing to delay our attack that long?” The Prime Director interrupted their conversation, “No! You will destroy that fleet and then go after the planet!” The Fleet Director looked at his Second and said, “You have your orders.” The Tronan Fleets moved in toward the large fleet of warships, erupted from the filament and went to full speed in normal space. The fifteen-thousand warships they were rushing in on launched a massive missile barrage. The Second ordered, “Fire all blasters!” The Tronan Fleet flew at high speed into the oncoming wave of missiles and then the wave of missiles hit the edge of the Tronan blaster coverage. The trillium tipped missiles caused gigantic explosions and the leading edge of the Tronan formation flew into the explosions. Eight hundred Tronan Warships were blown apart.

Gregor's Search

The Filament Makers

2017

From the international bestselling Author, Saxon Andrew, comes the sixth book in the Filament Universe, Gregor’s Search-The Filament Makers. The filaments connect all the stars and black holes in the known universe with powerful energy flows that move faster than the speed-of-light in subspace. All the star traveling civilizations in the known universe use them to travel to other planets. The filaments are ancient, and scientists know they are not a naturally occurring phenomenon; someone, or something, made them thousands of years ago. During the war with the Tronan, the Allies used filament communicators that could be heard across the universe. The Leaders of the Alliance fear that the ancient makers of the filaments will be coming to investigate who is using their creation and put a stop to it. Gregor MacGregor decides to act first, before they show up. He goes out to find the Filament Makers and determine if they are a threat to Bellingham. What he discovers is stunning and the danger to Bellingham and all the other planets in the Alliance is worse than anyone believes. To complicate matters, the Insectoid King is planning an attack on the Alliance and has a new weapon that is unstoppable. This book takes off fast and doesn’t slow down. It’s a full-length novel at 105,000 words and I know you’ll enjoy reading it late into the night. Excerpt: Gregor's Search-The Filament Makers Gregor nodded, “How long will it take you to do a full scan of this ship?” “About twenty-seconds.” Gregor sighed and thought about it. Elena stared at him and he finally turned to her, “Elena, this is the first time you will be placed in real danger. If we’re detected, it could lead to our being attacked. You need to help me make this decision.” “We’ve come out here to make a difference. It would be foolish not to do it.” Gregor nodded, “Computer, is there anything you can do to reduce the possibility of your scan being detected?” “The rear of this ship is pointed away from that probe. I can turn the Dragon Fly such that its main hull is blocking the scan’s emissions from going out of the ship. I can also reduce the power of the scan of the vessel’s interior close to our location, but I’ll have to go to full-power to scan the bridge; it’s more than three-miles from us.” “How much time will you have to use full-power?” “Eight-seconds.” Gregor shook his head and said loudly, “DO IT AND GET OUT OF HERE THE MOMENT YOU’RE DONE!!” “Starting scan.” “I’ll keep an eye on that probe and I’ll tell you if it starts transmitting a message.” “Thank you, Torn.” Gregor gripped the arms of his chair and saw Elena was also griping hers as well. “Going to full-power on the scan!” Gregor waited and three-seconds later heard Torn, “It’s transmitting!” The scan ended, the Dragon Fly quickly exited the ship, and immediately entered subspace, where it went to gravity-boosters and flew at high speed toward the filament. Gregor looked up at the wall monitor and saw something blue on the long-range scanner moving through subspace toward them at an incredible speed. He saw that it would be on them before they reached the filament, “STOP THE SHIP!!” Gregor ordered. The Dragon Fly came to an abrupt stop and turned to face the object roaring up on it.
