At last, Charles travels to his father's home land and learns of his inheritance. Charles encounters numerous problems and replaces the General Manager at the wine distillery, and sets about making the necessary changes and improvements to the distillery, and looks for land to begin a vineyard. Charles aids the local police by tracking down bandits, and assists the local police in a shootout with bank robbers. Charles makes a number of friends, and develops a reputation which ultimately makes him very popular. Charles ventures out of town to purchase horses and is shocked when he encounters a man that he once wanted to kill, Captain Bernard Pennington, the man that at one time had enslaved him, and was going to sell him at the Boston slave market.As Charles and the family travel back to America, their ship is attacked by 3 Spanish war ships that are determined to capture the ship and kill all on board.
