The next adventure in Charles’ life finds him setting up plans for new wagon factories and settling his relatives. The plans for the train track that would run from California to Raleigh, North Carolina, changes. The railroad wants to start in California and travel east to Raleigh, North Carolina. The change of plans has people upset that they were planning to build saloons, food stores, and general merchandise stores in California. They don’t want to wait for two years for the train track to reach their destination. Charles’s Sioux friends come to ask Charles for cattle to feed their tribe and are arrested by the Cavalry and are threatened to be hung for murder. Charles heads for Denver to save the Sioux from being hung.
