Susanna Natti is an American children's book illustrator. Born in Gloucester, Massachusetts in 1948, she was the daughter of children's author Lee Kingman, and amateur potter and cartoonist Robert Natti. The famed children's book author, Virginia Lee Burton, was a friend of the family, and Natti studied drawing with Burton's husband, the sculptor George Demetrios. Natti was educated at Smith College, and went on to study oil painting for a summer at Boston University, followed by a year at Montserrat School of Visual Art, and two years at Rhode Island School of Design studying illustration. Natti's first book was published in 1978, and she has gone on to illustrated over seventy additional titles, many of them from popular series such as the Lionel Series, by Stephen Krensky, the Cam Jansen and Young Cam Jansen series by David Adler, the Ronald Morgan series by Patricia Reilly Giff, and the Pet Patrol Series, by Betsy Duffey.
