Nighter

2006

Working in the Special Forces may be attractive to some but scary to others. Obviously – the stress, risking your life and even the daily duty of withholding information is not easy. But for some it's a way of life and the continuous dose of adrenaline in their blood makes them feel alive. This was the path chosen by Vesper, the hero in the book written by Magdalena Kozak. Ready to serve his country, he was ready to sacrifice everything. He was given a new life, a new identity and a new mission. He joins a secret unit of the Internal Security Agency, which under the guise of normal activities, deals with the fight against renegades – the native vampire threat. The renegades are developing new and more brutal methods to gain fresh, life-giving nourishment and are expanding their army at a dangerously fast rate. Vesper faces a choice: Should he offer his own life? How much can be sacrificed in order to defend others and what would happen if he became a vampire himself? In this book Magdalena Kozak presents an intriguing vision of Polish reality that no one could ever dream of. Nothing in this book is straightforward and there is no obvious right choice. No hero is one-dimensional. This story will certainly surprise you. If you think vampires do not exist, then you were wrong.

Renegade

2007

The Internal Security Agency's latest recruit, Jerzy Arlecki, once refused to believe in vampires, let alone a special crack unit that protects the human race against the blood thirsty renegades. But when he wakes up to the Night he vows to himself and to others that he will always be on the side of the good and righteous. But can he keep his promise? A wounded Vesper passes into the hands of the renegades and they try to keep him alive. This young Nighter is now a legend as he is the only one who dared to assassinate Lord Ultor. The renegades cannot allow him to die from his wounds. Vesper becomes a full-vampire, who is now dependent on the blood of humans. Life in the ranks of his former enemy is a challenge. For some, he is a traitor and a murderer, to others he is the enemy, yet some still consider him the unbeaten desperado. How will Vesper find himself in his new role? Who is lying and who can he trust? Where does righteousness end and evil begin? The situation seems hopeless. Old friends now plan their revenge, new friends were actually once old enemies and above all stands a beautiful woman and a great politician.

Nobody

2008

There is no place for Vesper amongst either the nighters or the renegades now. The rules that had once governed the vampire world have now collapsed in the face of a new threat. Humanity has seen the truth... The Vatican has unleashed a religious frenzy, which proves to be a challenge and leaves the nighters helpless. They cannot kill people. All they can do is rescue the renegades and try to control their fearsome predatory instincts. However, those on the dark side of the Night will not talk to the nighters, and they both begin a desperate struggle to survive. Even in the pits of despair, even in a sea of hatred, seeds of hope sprout from the former friends of the cursed Vesper. The end is only the beginning… Is there is something more than Destiny?

Inanite

2017

Sometimes, it’s the point when you achieve your dream that the real trouble begins. Ever since the day Vesper became a lord, he’s been forced to dodge a seemingly endless stream of troubles raining down upon him. It’s not as simple as merely finding a way to feed and pay his own Family, oh no. The real trouble begins when he has to find a way to co-operate with the other vampire lords, each with hundreds of years of experience and no patience for a young upstart with new ideas of how things should be done. There is no trail of blood-red roses to lead the young former nighter along the road to success. Luckily for him, the world itself is crying out for the Inanité family, a middle ground who are neither fully good nor fully evil. The whole vampire community looks to them in a time of danger and uncertainty. Rumors swirl that there are lethal enemies poised to attack the vampire clans, to poison the kindred bloodlines and wipe them out once and for all. The final hand is about to be dealt, and nothing will ever be the same again. In the Vesper Series, nothing is ever set in stone, not even the basic truths of good and evil. No one is immune to the temptations of immortal life…
