Their honeymoon will turn out to be just as unique. Instead of a week of wedded bliss, Chrysalis finds herself racing across this kingdom and the next in pursuit of the thugs who took Chass from her. Along the way she will encounter dinosaurs, dragons, and ancient spirits. She will even team up with an eclectic group of adventurers to do a little dungeon diving. Ancient Dwarven temples are a strange place for a Faun, but these dusty old relics may just hold the key to bringing her husband home safe and sound.

It's a war for the fate of an entire species, but the Fauns who've been threatened with extinction would rather not fight back. Chass knows more than anyone how deeply connected the Fauns are with nature—he did marry one, after all. Now that King Drevon is on the warpath for revenge, it's up to Chass to put together a rag-tag resistance army to protect those he cares about most. The only problem is the Fauns believe killing, even in self-defense, is wrong, and engaging in a violent war they have no hope of winning will only sow chaos and imbalance in the spirit world. They would sooner let themselves be sacrificed to King Drevon's wrath than block their own souls from reuniting with the Great Mother and Father in death. When all hope seems lost, Chass finds a tempting alternative to end the war once and for all: He can enslave the Spirits of the Storm, the same way King Drevon had all those years ago.
