The Girl Who Fell Into Myth

2023

Fall into the magic land of the Mythos along with its brave and forgotten daughter. Yevliesza has been caring for her ailing father when she is summoned home to a world she has never seen. Using a hidden portal, she enters the realm of Numinat, a myth world arisen from legend. Although she is the daughter of witches, she was raised in the modern age with little knowledge of their customs and none of their magic. For the last leg of her journey, she flies on the back of a dragon. When a storm splits open the sky, Yevliesza is caught in its blinding light. She arrives at the medieval city-palace severely damaged, forever marked as an outsider. In this kingdom of deep powers, she is devoid of magic. Determined to claim her place, she must counter dangerous court intrigues and a sorceress who intends to see this foreigner cast from the great Tower. Yevliesza may find protection with a powerful lord if her heart can bear the penalty of his conditions. In the end, however, she must find her own path if she is to survive. But what she discovers is a perilous magic that, once revealed, may make her a permanent outcast. A high fantasy from acclaimed science fiction and fantasy world-builder, Kay Kenyon.

Stranger in the Twisted Realm

2023

The prince who will conquer all the kingdoms of myth. The woman who must stop him. Not all myths are harmless. Yevliesza, formerly of earth and now of the Mythos, knows that one of the mythical realms is based in darkness. Volkia. This warlike kingdom has shattered the rules of magic, bringing all the realms into peril. When Yevliesza is sent to Volkia on a diplomatic mission, she arrives at a nest of vipers. The cunning ruler of Volkia, Prince Albrecht, appears to welcome her, but suspects that she is linked to a rare and world-altering power. One that he intends to harness for conquest. To preserve the Mythos, Yevliesza must never reveal that power. But she has left behind a trail of evidence, and worse, she possesses a damning arcane tracery—etched upon her very skin. Now she is in the hands of a ruler who is determined to bend her to his will, whether through a twisted courtship or outright coercion. Unless she can outwit him. The prince has formidable allies, but one is the twisted being who hovers over the realm, guiding the Volkish and seeking revenge on Yevliesza's homeland. And especially on the girl with the Lost Power. Book two of a high fantasy quartet from acclaimed science fiction and fantasy world-builder Kay Kenyon.

Servant of the Lost Power

2024

SERVANT OF THE LOST POWER, book 3 of my new fantasy quartet, continues the tale of Yevliesza, a stranger in the witchy kingdom of Numinat—a realm of the Mythos. It is now a time of war and sorcery, and Yevliesza must undergo the ultimate test of her resolve to use her lost power, despite the possible world-altering consequences. A test that may lead to salvation—or madness. Book 4, the conclusion of The Arisen Worlds series, is now on pre-order, with a September 3rd scheduled publication date. I'm excited to introduce a subplot for Rusadka, the taciturn harjat warrior, and Yevliesza's most steadfast friend. Book one in the quartet is THE GIRL WHO FELL INTO MYTH, which chronicles how a 21st century woman ends up in the realms of myth and the upheavals that her arrival heralds. Book two is STRANGER IN THE TWISTED REALM. All books in the series are offered in paperback and hardcover as well as ebook. And I'm thrilled with a new project: to produce deluxe hardcover editions with interior color images, foiled dust jackets, and under-the-jacket case designs. Check it out on Kickstarter: The Arisen Worlds Portal Fantasy Series: Limited Edition Hardcovers.
