Commonly referred to as the Prince of Preachers, Charles Haddon Spurgeon was born in England and gave his life to God at age 16. Almost immediately, he became active in spreading the gospel by passing out tracts on street corners, organizing outreach programs, and attracting crowds with his captivating sermons. Drawn by his enthusiastic preaching style and practical application of Scripture, thousands flocked to hear him and were converted to Christ through his ministry. He frequently preached to more than 10,000 people. Today, he remains one of the most quoted and mdash;and revered and mdash;preachers since the apostle Paul. His sermons were published weekly in London newspapers and were eventually collected in fifty volumes. This book highlights the messages of Charles Spurgeon. The language has been gently modernized for greater relevance to contemporary times, but none of the spiritual substance has been diluted. The material is profound, thought-provoking, and life-changing, but easy to follow. This is the perfect book to help you dig deeper and be challenged to expand your faith.

Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892) was England's best-known preacher for most of the second half of the nineteenth century. In 1854, just four years after his conversion, Spurgeon, then only 20, became pastor of London's famed New Park Street Church (formerly pastored by the famous Baptist theologian, John Gill). The congregation quickly outgrew their building, moved to Exeter Hall, then to Surrey Music Hall. In these venues, Spurgeon frequently preached to audiences numbering more than 10,000—all in the days before electronic amplification. In 1861, the congregation moved permanently to the newly constructed Metropolitan Tabernacle.
