Now in its twentieth year the Caine Prize for African Writing is Africa's leading literary prize, and is awarded to a short story by an African writer published in English, whether in Africa or elsewhere. This collection will bring together the five stories on the 2019 shortlist, which will be announced in May. The book will be published to coinicide with the announcement of the winner in early July. The book will also include 12 stories written at the Caine Prize Writers' Workshop, which will take place in April 2019.
