This rare Anthony Gilbert short story “The Cockroach and the Tortoise” was first published in Detection Medley, edited by John Rhode and published in 1939 by Hutchinson & Co. Ltd. Later included in the British Library Crime Classics edition of Death in Fancy Dress.
