Love is hell. At least that’s where I left mine millennia ago after Lucifer tore Samael and me apart. The King of Hell couldn’t stand that I wouldn’t submit to him and ordered his brother to stay away from me. Samael made his choice. So much for true love. I hate the way my heart pounds when he’s around. I’ve had centuries to get over the Fallen angel, so why is he still buried deep in my heart? I’m over it. I’ve been over it. And nothing can drag me back to hell. Not even my sort-of angelic baby daddy or the news of an upcoming apocalypse. But if I want to keep from getting caught up in all of Hell’s nonsense for good, I’m stuck working with Samael to save all of humanity. Oh, joy. Samael’s the only one I trust on this mission, but I need to keep my heart safe. A few nights in bed can’t mean anything. But even fallen angels deserve a second chance.
