They are doing it in a way she is in a constant state of weakness and unable to use her ice to fight back. They are feeding her well, but she doesn’t know what they want. Her only means of communication is secret faction code tapped into a bracelet they haven’t taken away yet. She doesn’t know where she is or what they want, but these people have her in a place that if Elan comes for her, his gifts will be used against him too and they will both die.
