An impossible choice—marriage or the convent! The lord of San Giorgio kept his sister Bianca on short rations and worse clothing. So when the handsome and renowned mercenary Piero de Manfredini asked for her hand in marriage, Bianca was astounded and furious when her brother threatened her with a convent if she refused! Intelligent and ambitious, Piero was playing a clever game of cajoling his new bride in order to heal a breach with his family. But as the game progressed, the willful Bianca confounded him, opening his heart to the unthinkable. Would the game's result defy his expectations...and show him the most intimate aspects of enduring love?
