Miracles Require Sacrifice. I know the rules of the Devil’s dance. I’ve twirled through his ballroom eight times before, but this All Hallows Eve, I can’t be a sinner’s absolution. There’s only one way to buy a miracle from God, and my sister needs it badly. For her, I’ll risk descending beneath the Devil’s cathedral to find the one thing I could trade for a dying girl’s life. Getting to the Devil’s halo is easier than it should be. Escaping the demon who guards it once he’s caught me is another thing altogether. Especially when I start to like the sweet agony of defeat. But the broken halo glows on its plinth as a constant reminder that I can’t stay. Escape him. Get the halo. Cross the fields of the damned. Slip past the vulture demons… climb to heaven. It’s only impossible if I don’t try.
Author

Dalia Davies fell into monster romance—almost by accident—and loves it here. She drinks her weight in tea every day and has been told on numerous occasions that she “knows too much”. She pairs old gods, monsters, and aliens with human women who get exactly what they want and maybe a little more than they came for. Brought up on fairytales read while hiding in the back stacks of her small-town library and sneaking in creature features at friends' homes, she always wanted a way to meld two fantasies into one. When not writing, she plays the banjo poorly, dreams of traveling the world, and avoids large crowds and loud noises. Living in the southwestern US, she lets the outside heat permeate her stories and hopes they leave you panting. This is, of course, a pen name. It is one of many I write under.
