Broken hearted and jobless, Kate returns to her hometown. A huge fight and break up with her boyfriend the night before an interview for her dream job at a five-star restaurant, Kate shows up late. After being told that is the one reason she won't be considered Kate is devastated. Feeling alone and lost, her career under-baked she heads home. Taking over the kitchen at the small bakery and café her mother owns, Kate bandages her heart and starts to cook her way out of heartbreak. Until, Don rolls into town. Don fears he's pushed Kate, the woman he adores, away permanently. He shows up in her hometown and declares his love asking for forgiveness.
