Jacob follows a wanted killer from Rio Rico, a little town near the Mexican border, to Calabash Crossing in the northern part of Arizona Territory. When he meets Calabash Crossing’s sheriff, B.J. Kincaid, the fact that she’s a woman puts him off at first, but when the two of them join forces to find the killer and his gang, her grit, determination, and skill with a gun causes him to have a change of heart.
