Amira is a princess who hates being touched. Ever since she was little, it’s been something that sends her into a panic and makes her want to claw her skin off. Her parents hope for the day they can find her a husband who can tame her, or at least one who will ignore her oddities. It all falls apart when, after endless taunting from her peers, she kisses the stable boy and he falls gravely ill. And for Princess Amira? She turns into a frog. It’s an utter fairytale cliche, except for one fact: she’s not just any frog, she’s a poison dart frog. As her parents send for more and more suitors to come and try to kiss her free of the curse, they all suffer the same fate. Soon, the men start refusing to show up. Locking her away to be cared for by a maid, her parents scour the land for a cure to the curse. But, as the weeks drag on, she starts feeling something she’s never felt before. Something that sends her stomach swooping and heart racing, all for the maid tending to her. It’s too bad Amira can never be free of the curse. But maybe, she likes not being able to be touched for once.
