From the author of This Doesn't Happen In The Movies, a Readers' Favorite finalist in mystery! Amazon #1 Bestselling Author - over 1 million books in circulation. Reed's back with a dose of humor and film noir that will keep you turning pages. When an attractive female client begs Reed Ferguson to find her prize-winning Maltese show dog stolen from her back yard, Reed suspects he may be channeling Ace Ventura: Pet Detective rather than his hero, Humphrey Bogart. It sounds like a simple case, but things take a dangerous turn and Reed discovers that man's-best-friend can attract some decidedly unfriendly characters! Praise for Renee Pawlish "Witty sarcasm and tension oozes from the pages." "Love a good detective story? Try Reed Ferguson." "Twists and turns in a good-humored mystery series." " A private eye who loves noir films working in the present day? Not likely, but it works." Praise for The Maltese Felon "Clever plotting, a definite sense of urgency and a deliciously twisted ending." Amazon review "Reed Ferguson is the newest cool detective on the bookshelves. Reed is the best kind of detective; he's one of us. He hasn't got massive muscles and wields a gun with ease. He takes a licking, but keeps on ticking. The story has twists and turns that keep the reader's eyes glued to the pages. This isn't some fluffy dog story, it's doggone good!" Amazon review "One of my favorite books in the REED FERGUSON MYSTERY SERIES...well written with new insights hidden around each twist and turn. Fast paced, intriguing...a real page turner. I recommend this book and the entire REED FREGUSON MYSTERY SERIES." Joseph Fusco, writer/actor Praise for the acclaimed first crime novel in the Reed Ferguson mystery series, THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN IN THE MOVIES: Kirkus Reviews on this private investigator series: The promising kickoff to Pawlish's comic mystery series, starring far-from-perfect PI Reed Ferguson. Pawlish earns high marks for plot construction, with twists and turns naturally unfolding as Ferguson, inexperienced but not incapable, feels his way through the case. A good-humored mystery series worth following. Readers' Favorite on this mystery series: This is one witty, hilarious private detective story that will keep the reader glued to the pages until the very end. 5 Star Review There is little doubt that Renée Pawlish is a promising new voice to the comic murder/mystery genre. Quite noticeable...is Pawlish's adept development of the plot coupled with her ability to contrive clear, concise and playful prose with almost perfect pacing.
