Anna Schwartz is living in confusing times. Her boyfriend is pressuring her to have sex, a step for which she’s not at all certain she’s ready. Meanwhile, the world is going insane over the return of “the Monkey God,” a being who is traveling through space, and is due to arrive on Earth in a few weeks. In the meanwhile, people called “message receivers” have been able to sense the Monkey God’s thoughts, and have begun preaching his religion. As if that weren’t bad enough, Anna has been hearing voices of her own. Her voices are from the Minx, an imaginary childhood companion who has returned with a vengeance—and now seems to want to control her body. As Anna deals with the voices in her head, a hermaphroditic killer is stalking the city, using sex and a scalpel to hunt down the children of the Monkey God.

He is also a scriptwriter. He has been writing comics for some time and he has somewhat of a reputation for writing material that is highly outlandish, bizarre and/or absurd. His highest profile projects to date include a run on X-Men, and his X-Force revamp that relaunched as X-Statix. Many of Milligan's best works have been from DC Vertigo.
