Juline Brewer isn't going to go to her sister's New Year's party. She's thought of every excuse in the book why she can't make it, but the truth is, Juline can't imagine going to a New Year's party that her ex is going to attend. Shane and Juline broke up earlier in the year, and Juline has spent ten months away from the woman who drove her crazy, in every good and bad way. She hasn't seen Shane in almost ten months, and she thinks it best to not see Shane ever again. But when Juline's sister guilts her into coming anyway, Juline tells herself she's going to try to make the best of it. She puts on her prettiest dress and high heels, and desperately hopes that Shane's not going to be there. And secretly hopes that she will be. One New Year's night may change everything. "The New Year's Party" is a sweet, romantic short story about second chances. It is approximately 10,000 words.

My name is Bridget Essex, and I write about werewolves, vampires and lady knights; about two strong, courageous women who fall deeply in love with one another, living love stories that transcend time. I'm married to the love of my life, author Natalie Vivien. I'm best known for my Knight Legends series, stories about women knights, real world hi-jinks and love stories that are out of this world. My Sullivan Vampire novellas are a popular series lauded as "TWILIGHT for women who love women," and I have several other series and stand-alone novellas, and I'm always putting out something new.
