Final Curtain

2020

Five years ago, I had an audition for the ballet company of my dreams. Five years ago, my boyfriend purposely broke my toes and ruined my dreams. Two days later, I found out I’m a witch. I thought my ballet days were over. I just graduated from the academy to work as a federal agent with the Paranormal Investigation Bureau. I get called into the office for something that could change my life permanently. Meaning, I could die. That ballet company I never got to audition for is doing The Sugar Skull Girl. This ballet has never been seen on stage before. I don’t have the full story, but rumors are that any time someone tries to attempt this ballet, things soon turn fatal. I’ve been told to strap my pointe shoes on and use my witch abilities to go undercover at the ballet company. I had my reservations about taking this job, even if it had once been a dream of mine to dance for The P. The artistic director is a horny Unseelie rake who makes casting decisions with his cock. The prima ballerina here needs to retire, but she’s totally toxic about making sure no one upstages her. She has a club of mean girl ballet dancers willing to ruin careers just for the spotlight…or maybe just for fun. Not only do I have to survive gossip, hot male dancers who like to sniff around new ballerinas, and toxic prima ballerinas, I have to figure out what is going on with this ballet before we all die. I might not like these people, but I’m here to save their lives.

Santiago Suarez is needed in the Green room! How does one go about tracking down an old, cursed Unseelie fugitive who could be anywhere? I’m almost certain he’s the entire reason this ballet it fatal, though I don’t know how considering he would be old and frail by now. This ballet hasn’t killed anyone yet, but we’ve only just gotten started. Marsden isn’t helping at all and he only made things worse with Bellatrix by having Julian arrested. Now, Bellatrix and Ivory have upped their antics. If this ballet doesn’t kill Bellatrix, I might.

I’m now in the line of fire and I think Santiago and Marsden manipulated me here. Getting the lead in a famous ballet company had always been a dream of mine, but this just feels hollow. Not only is this ballet cursed, I just hate how I got the role. I’ve moved from the understudy who was supposed to protect the cast to the understudy who stole the lead. This is exactly what happened before and everyone died. Marsden has gotten super weird. He’s being supportive and he’s started publicizing this ballet like he thinks this is a sure thing. He still hasn’t told me everything he knows and I have no idea where Santiago Suarez is. If anyone else dies, it may break me.

USA Today Bestselling Author JB Trepagnier is a huge liar. She first started lying as a child when someone asked who colored on the walls. She later went on to major in art, so they really should have framed it instead of sending her to the principals office so many times. When she was fourteen, she wrote a very large lie into several notebooks, which later became her first book, Midnight's Sonata. Rather than dabbling in politics and possibly ending up in jail for lying when it counts or under oath, JB chooses to craft elaborate lies into word documents and use them for entertainment rather than harm because she is really batman, just without all the money to fight crime
