Winner of the 2001 Pavement Saw Chapbook Award as chosen by David Baratier. This is Amy King's first collection. She teaches Creative Writing and English at SUNY Nassau Community College and has also taught a workshop of her own design, “Making the Urban Poetic” at Poets House in Manhattan. Since this collection was published Amy became the editor-in-chief for the literary arts journal, MiPOesias, and an interview correspondent for miPOradio. Her poems have been nominated for several Pushcart Prizes, and she has been the recipient of a MacArthur Scholarship for Poetry. Two more recent full length books ANTIDOTES FOR AN ALIBI (BlazeVOX Books, 2005), which was a finalist for the Lambda Award and I’M THE MAN WHO LOVES YOU (BlazeVOX Books, 2007) are both available.

Amy King is the recipient of the 2015 Women’s National Book Association (WNBA) Award. Her latest collection, The Missing Museum, is a 2015 Tarpaulin Sky Book Prize winner. She’s co-editor of the anthology Big Energy Poets: Ecopoetry Thinks Climate Change and the anthology series, Bettering American Poetry. King is a professor of creative writing at SUNY Nassau Community College. King has also taught poetry workshops at such places as the San Francisco State University Poetry Center and the Summer Writing Program @ Naropa University. Her poems have been nominated for numerous Pushcart Prizes, she was a Lambda Literary finalist, and she was the recipient of a MacArthur Scholarship for Poetry.
