Discovered some of Matt Shaw's many books? Published together, as a single collection, is the second batch of his stories ("Buried", "The Dead Don't Knock", "The Breakdown" and "Romance is Dead") - at a cheaper rate than if you were to buy the books individually now you really do have no excuse not to give his work a go! BURIED I've stopped panicking now. Not because I'm not scared. I just know panicking won't help the situation. It'll only serve to make it worse. Need to try and remain calm for as long as possible. Control my breathing. Save my oxygen. I breathed in and coughed. The air in here is stale. I hope I'm not in here for long. Please, dad. Don't let me be here for long. Please. I started to cry. Helpless. * * * * * The day after his 21st Birthday Party, Todd woke to find himself trapped in a box with nothing but broken memories for company. Told through his eyes, live his fear and feel his claustrophobia as he frantically tries to peace together what happened, who buried him and why in Matt Shaw's new horror novella. THE DEAD DON'T KNOCK Not sure when it happened, exactly. The first I noticed was when my wife popped out for the evening. I went out, to find her, and I heard them.... out there.... roaming around looking for flesh to feast upon. My wife never did come home that night. My only guess is that they got her. I just hope they ate enough of her to stop her coming back as one of them - she deserves to rest in peace at least. She deserved that much. A few days, holed-up in my house... that's all.... a few days hiding out. Give them enough time to wander off looking for food. Increase my chances of getting out of here without coming face to face with the Horde. Just hope they don't find a way into my terraced house, in the meantime. I fear them as much as I fear looters. Funny - the survivors of the infection.... never would have thought they'd be worse but... their unpredictable, greedy nature.... they're worse alright. Hopefully looters won't find a way in here either. Not whilst I'm still hiding out. Two days. Need to get my act together.... need to be ready..... THE BREAKDOWN "I knew there were problems in our marriage. We hardly spoke anymore, other than to argue, and I often volunteered for all the overtime work my boss could throw my direction to help keep me out of the house. Our failing relationship was a two way thing. I do love her though. It's just...We're going through a rough patch at the moment. I figured every couple has them. I decided to use my overtime money to take her on holiday. Just the two of us. Somewhere hot and exotic. Somewhere we could rediscover our love for each other. I just never knew she had already moved on. I never knew about him. Not until a friend told me...I don't know if I can win her back. I don't know if I want to either. First things first, though...I need to go and drag her away from his house." ROMANCE IS DEAD She had no idea why she killed him. Frying pan to the back of his head. Repeatedly. She just finally snapped at the lack of romance in their marriage. The lack of love. Perhaps her subconscious simply thought, ‘If Romance is dead - why shouldn’t he be dead too?’ It didn’t matter why she did it. The only thing that mattered now was to hide her crime. Easier said than done with her neighbours breathing down her neck, asking awkward questions. That and the fact that, in his death, she was finally starting to realise why she loved him in the first place.

Biography MATT SHAW was born, quite by accident (his mother tripped, he shot out) September 30th 1980 in Winchester hospital where he was immediately placed on the baby ward and EBay. Some twelve years later (wandering the corridors of the hospital and playing with road kill when he was on day release), the listing closed and he remained unsold, he was booted out of the hospital to start his life as a writer and hobbit – beginning with writing screenplays and short stories for his own amusement before finally getting published when he was twenty-seven years and forty-five seconds old. Once Published weekly in a lad's magazine with his photography work, Matt Shaw is also a published author and cartoonist. Has to be said, can be a bit of a flirt and definitely, without a shadow of a doubt, somewhat of a klutz. Favourite books "Roald Dahl's Collection of Short Stories" Tim Burton's Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy Anything, really, written by himself. Because he is that good.
