After Alliance bombings, Swooning Moon is in ruins. Only the megalopolis Capitol survives under its blue dome. Among thousands of broken-down amusement parks, dragon catchers' ships soar in the skies, and gangs of youth, 'wing walkers', look for magical items to sell for a few coins. Eighteen-year-old Cassie just joined the scavengers. Heartbroken after losing her best friend in an accident, she can focus on one thing only: dragons can alter reality. All she needs is a sage dragon...Singing at the dragon opera, she has seen first hand what sages can do. The wilderness is harsh, but she finds an ally in Jay Tachebana, the son of the most affluent mobster, who flies around in samurai attire in his father’s billion-dollar racer craft, finding dragons for rich buyers. Cassie has never felt more conflicted about anyone in her life than this dragon catcher with the kindest eyes in the world. At the opera, dragons are treated wonderfully well—is this what it’s like behind the scenes? The Dragauria marshlands emanate original magic from the times before the planet was terraformed, and things are not always what they seem. The only thing keeping her from losing herself entirely in her sorrow and the ancient magic is Jay’s patience. In search of the oldest dragons, Cassie and Jay venture deep into uncharted grounds and discover there’s a good reason for the spells enclosing the planet's magical core under a shield...because underneath, something is awakening. * Readers have said: * “…imaginative, dream-like world where dragons sing in Opera houses, unicorns abound and hippogriffs are the true custodians of magic…If you appreciate elaborate world building, you'll love this.” “makes me jealous i'm not a summon-singer! There is intrigue and danger on almost every page, i wanted to be on this adventure with Cassie“ “…this book had me hooked from the beginning and i couldn't stop reading, and reading, and reading…” "I absolutely adored this book!" “I loved the dragons. Finnberg brought a new twist with this one” * EXCERPTS: * Cassie turned back to the dragons, trying to calm her mind. “Well. That’s awful treatment of sentient, intelligent animals who are acutely sensitive to the rights and wrongs of the universe.” “You don’t know that…” Jay let out a soft laugh. “They don’t like the wrongs of the universe? I mean, I get the part about them being intelligent, and I agree, we shouldn’t treat them bad, but not like they talk?” “They sort of do, if you connect.” *** On her seventeenth birthday, Dad had walked a sage dragon onto the stage for her. Its beady eyes had already glowed with ether. She knew a few people had held their breaths. She had. The clack of the yard-long claws on the white marble floor still echoed in her mind. She had frozen still, stomach sinking, believing she could never sing with it. But it was doable. Even that was doable. * Can be read as a standalone! *

When I found my big brother’s bookshelves, there was no turning back - like they say, through books we can live a thousand lives. Books can soothe us, transform us or just entertain us, and all that’s good. I used to work as a psychologist, but took the leap to set up a small business to find more time for my kids and writing. I hail from the tiny country of Finland, where you can tell it’s summer when your feet plop out of the ice (well, that's how it can sometimes seem)... In my spare time, I can be be found cross-country skiing with my phone in one hand (you know when those plot twist ideas pop into your head, right!?) or wandering about sipping on a smoothie (very likely). I'm gonna be dabbling in different writing projects and hopping genres, and plans are, there's no plan...But definitely urban fantasy, paranormal romance, a military space opera series, and fairytale retellings...for now!
