This volume contains five works by the famous Spanish author Pedro Antonio de Alarcón (1833-1891); two novellas and three short stories:

1. The Three-Cornered Hat ( El Sombrero de Tres Picos), which - as the translator states - "shares the merit with "Don Quixote" of being probably the best-known work of Spanish literature outside Spain". It was also the inspiration for Manuel de Falla's ballet suite.
