Storm Born

2020

Love can strike like lightning—but so can trouble. Lightning doesn’t just strike twice for Adara Grant. It strikes all the time. She suffers a setback; the heavens open up. She gets bullied; a tornado flattens a barn. Addie’s mother has always found an excuse to move before whispers and stares morph into pitchforks, but Addie suspects there’s a connection. She just doesn’t know how. Or why. Jake Wilcox is a witch hunter—for a good cause. His pet project is a powerful data-mining program that detects lone witches when their gifts manifest, thus bringing these “orphaned” witches under the Wilcox clan’s protection. When Jake follows a lead to tiny, remote Kanab, Utah, he discovers a young witch as wild and beautiful as a desert storm. But he’s not the only witch hunter in town, and in an instant, Jake and Addie are on the run from someone hungry to use her gift for evil. Addie finds a new home and protection with the Wilcox clan, but as danger closes in like an icy storm front, she faces a heartbreaking choice to protect her newfound family—and the man she’s coming to love.

Thunder Road

2020

A storm can cover her tracks…or lead the wolves straight to her door. With the help of his witch clan, Jake Wilcox is looking forward to a happy future with Addie Grant, the woman he’s falling for. There’s just one thing missing: Addie. Sometime in the night, she up and left. He can guess why—she’d sacrifice almost anything to avoid causing her newfound family any trouble. But the big question is, where did she go? Addie dutifully went along with the Wilcox clan’s plan to protect her from Randall Lenz, the government operative bent on harnessing her weather magic for not-so-noble purposes. But in the back of her mind, a voice insists that as long as she stays in Arizona, the greater the danger to Jake and the Wilcox witch clan. Heart breaking, Addie listens to her inner nomad and goes where the wind takes her—a place where no government, no witch, not even Jake can find her. But there are two factors working against her desire to remain hidden: her love for Jake…and the magic that, when danger flares like a wildfire, she has no choice but to unleash.

Winds of Change

2020

One surge of magical power could free her—or short-circuit her future. Jake Wilcox thought he’d covered their tracks when he hid his love, weather witch Adara Grant, in a remote Wyoming town under the watchful guard of the Northern Arapahoe. He should have listened to his instincts that he was making a horrible mistake. Now Addie’s gone, taken in the dead of night by the very nemesis they thought they’d eluded. Locked away so deep in a government testing facility, it’ll take more than magical luck to find her, much less get her out alive. Addie is living her worst nightmare, and feeling every one of the three thousand miles between her and Jake. The temptation to use her wild gift to free herself is strong—but it’s not just her own life at stake. The facility is full of orphaned witches. And one faint signal that could be glimmer of hope—or a sign that luck has run out for Addie, Jake, and everyone they love.

Smoke and Mirrors

2022

When the truth burns away her illusions, only one man can break her fall. A few months ago, Skyler Fields didn’t believe witches were real. Until she was kidnapped and held prisoner in a facility that forced her to face the fact—she is one. And not just a run-of-the-broom witch with a cool party trick, either. She can control fire with a mere thought, and detect when other witches are nearby. Freed with the help of a fellow prisoner, she follows her thumb to Arizona, where, she’s told, the Wilcox clan will give her the help she needs. She never expected the first Wilcox she meets to make her pulse race. With his tall, dark good looks and smoke-gray eyes, Jasper Wilcox could easily distract Skyler from her mission. But she has questions about her heritage, and the buzzing in her head tells her she’s in the presence of a warlock who can get her the answers she so desperately craves. As Skyler and Jasper work to peel away the lies surrounding the source of her gifts, they are irresistibly drawn together. But the deeper they dig, the greater the danger that the truth will tear them apart...and put the entire Wilcox clan in danger.

A native of Southern California, Christine Pope has been writing stories ever since she commandeered her family’s Smith-Corona typewriter back in the sixth grade. Many reams of dead trees later, she’s happy to announce that her debut novel, Fringe Benefits, was published by Pink Petal Books on April 8, 2010. Her short fiction has appeared in Astonishing Adventures, Luna Station Quarterly, and the new journal of dark fiction, Dark Valentine. Her paranormal novella, Playing With Fire, was released on August 5, 2010. While Fringe Benefits is a straight contemporary romance, she writes in a variety of genres, including paranormal romance, fantasy, horror, science fiction, and historical romance. She blames this on being easily distracted by bright, shiny objects, which could also account for the size of her shoe collection. After spending many years in the magazine publishing industry, she now works as a freelance editor in addition to writing fiction. She lives with her husband and an explosively fluffy Pomeranian mix. Her house is pink, but don’t hold that against her.
