Claudia Hernández González es una escritora salvadoreña. Nació en San Salvador, en 1975. Licenciada en comunicaciones por la Universidad Tecnológica de El Salvador, realizó también estudios de derecho. A partir de finales de la década de 1990 ha publicado relatos sueltos en el suplemento TresMil del diario CoLatino y en la revista Hablemos de El Diario de Hoy en El Salvador. En 1998 ganó el primer honorífico del premio Juan Rulfo de Radio Francia Internacional, por su cuento “Un demonio de segunda mano”. Hernández ha publicado seis colecciones de cuentos, entre ellas Otras ciudades (2001), Mediodía de frontera (2002), Olvida Uno (2005), De fronteras (2007) La canción del mar (2007) y Causas Naturales (2013). En 2004 obtuvo el prestigioso premio Anna Seghers, en Alemania, por obra publicada. Sus cuentos han sido publicados en varias antologías, entre ellas Los centroamericanos (2002), Papayas und Bananen. Erotische und andere Erzählungen aus Zentralamerika (2002) Pequeñas resistencias 2. Antología del cuento centroamericano contemporáneo (2003). Actualmente, Hernández trabaja como catedrática de la Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas. Su reciente obra, el libro bilingüe They Have Fired Her Again, fue publicada en 2016.
