The Sister
2008
How would you take revenge for the murder of your sister? The Sister is the first book in award-winning author R.J. Ellory's electrifying ebook-exclusive trilogy, THREE DAYS IN CHICAGOLAND. The testimonies of the sister, the cop and the killer will at last reveal the dreadful truth behind the brutal murder of a young girl in Chicago in 1956. That final minute should have lasted forever, but it was gone before I knew it. Four years, five months, fifteen days, and twenty-two hours collapsed into sixty seconds. Today I will see a man die. Today I will see justice delivered. Four and a half years ago a man - a monster - put his hands around my sister's fragile neck and squeezed the life out of her. He confessed without hesitation. He gave no explanation, no defense, and he did not ask for mercy. And as I sit here, counting down his final seconds on this Earth, I know my wait is over. I will finally get what I truly desire: to see my sister's killer executed in front of my eyes.

The Cop
2012
The Cop is the second book in award-winning author R.J. Ellory's electrifying ebook-exclusive trilogy, THREE DAYS IN CHICAGOLAND. The testimonies of the sister, the cop and the killer will at last reveal the dreadful truth behind the brutal murder of a young girl in Chicago in 1956. Had I know then how this case would trouble me, well, maybe I would have done things differently. But hindsight is like that. Looking back, it's always so easy to make the right decision... My name is Detective Maguire of Chicago PD 9th Precinct Homicide Division. I got a wife, two kids, and a job that some days can suck the life outta you. This case, this pretty kindergarten teacher choked to death on her kitchen floor, should have been open and shut. We did our research, canvassed the neighborhood and finally we got our man. Walked in right off the street, don't you know, and owned up to it. One killer, one confession, one sure-fire conviction. And yet, something just don't sit right for me. And the devil is in the details, or so they say.

The Killer
2012
The Killer is the final book in award-winning author R.J. Ellory's electrifying ebook trilogy, THREE DAYS IN CHICAGOLAND. The testimonies of the sister, the cop and the killer will at last reveal the dreadful truth behind the brutal murder of a young girl in Chicago in 1956. Let's face facts here-there's some folks who just shouldn't be allowed to raise up kids. Harsh, but true. I'd have to include myself among them, for sure, but I reckon my father would get top billing. I've been in Chicago for over ten years now. I was raised in Taylorville, Illinois, but I fled here back in '46. Not before I took a childhood of batterings from my old man, and saw my ma suffer vicious beating after vicious beating. Oh yeah, Ray Woodroffe regretted both his marriage and his kids, and he didn't shy away from showing us. So I came here. Earned some money, got a place of my own. But that kind of cruelty leaves its mark. It's hereditary. And it found its way into my heart, my bones, my blood. I've been living with guilt a good long time now and finally it's time to make amends. I am a killer and tomorrow morning at ten o'clock, not a moment sooner or later, I am going to die in the electric chair.
