Part of Series

Jesse: astute, charming, statuesque Torque: serious, ethereal, reticent Brutus, Torque's rescued stray and town legend, suddenly falls ill. Torque needs the town's only vet, Jesse Rayne, immediately. Her help is the only way to save his beloved dog. But no one knows where she is and the last time anyone saw her was when she left for a ride out at Hayden's ranch. When Romeo, the gelding that Jesse was last seen riding, returns to the ranch without Jesse, the search begins to find her. Torque sets out knowing time may be short for Brutus as he only seems to get sicker. When he finds Jesse, she has hit her head and wakes up looking into his piercing light colored eyes thinking she's died and is in heaven staring into the eyes of an angel. On the way back to town, Torque tells Jesse about Brutus and they rush to the vet clinic to try to save him. Realizing there is a pattern and other animals are coming down with the same symptoms, Jesse confides in Torque. Can the two of them figure out who is poisoning animals in White Summer? Or will they also become victims of this psychopath?
