The Time Takers

2014

Book one in a new series by the International Bestselling Author, Saxon Andrew, Trapped in Time-The Time Takers is a must read that will keep your attention through the last page. Throughout history, humans have been saved a moment before they died. Those that are taken, awake to find themselves in a strange new world different from anything they had ever seen. They discover that some agency has taken them out of the time they lived and dropped them into the early Cretaceous Age. They are now faced with surviving in a world that was called the Golden Age of the Dinosaurs. Not only must they learn how to survive the giant carnivores but also survive other humans. They are challenged to build a civilization ninety million years before the first Homo sapiens appeared on Earth. The humans struggling to survive wonder if the Time Takers are a larger danger than any they face in the prehistoric world they now inhabit. One of them is determined to find out why they were taken and his quest could endanger everyone. Excerpt from: The Time Takers Suddenly, the cave was filled with a deafening roar. Everyone in the cave turned, grabbed their ears and looked to the left, where they saw an opening in the cave wall at the end of a short corridor. Something was filling the opening. Andy was stunned at what he saw. This was a nightmare that could only come from an overdose of bad drugs. Everyone fled across the cave to the wall furthest from the opening. The Romans broke formation and ran with the others. The Roman Leader held his ground and Andy saw he was shocked and frightened out of his wits. It was easy to see why. Andy sprinted across the cave and moved into the short corridor leading to the opening where a giant head with rows of sharp teeth was being pushed further into the cave. He stopped twenty feet from the head, raised the bow and fired an arrow directly into the open mouth of the huge Allosaurus. The giant reptile screamed and jerked its head back out of the opening but not before Andy had notched another arrow and hit it between the eyes with an arrow that buried itself to the fletching. The giant’s roar was silenced as it straightened up and then fell backwards. Andy put the bow over his shoulder and ran toward the entrance. He saw a large stone wheel on the right side of the opening designed to block the entrance and he ran behind it and tried to push it forward. The roars from outside the cave were getting louder…and numerous; everyone inside could hear that there were more of the nightmares that had stuck its head in the cave outside the opening. He pushed as hard as he could but the wheel was just too heavy to move. There was a channel cut into the floor for it to roll in; but it was just too massive to budge. The Roman Leader sprinted over and started pushing with Andy. They looked out of the opening as they struggled to move the stone wheel and saw ten of the giant carnivores were just outside the entrance surrounding the dead Allosaurus,. They appeared to be trying to determine what killed it. One of them looked at the cave opening and started moving toward it. Ten Samurai and five Vikings arrived at that moment and began pushing with Andy and the Roman. The wheel started moving and then rolled over the entrance just before the dinosaur arrived. The men gathered at the wheel felt it lean into the cave for a moment…and then fall back against the opening. This book is dedicated to my brother, Wayne. I wish you could have read this one. Taming a Planet

2014

From the International Bestselling Author, Saxon Andrew comes the second book in the Trapped in Time Series, Taming a Planet. It continues the story of humans fighting to survive during the Golden Age of Dinosaurs against giant carnivores and other humans bent on planet domination. The Community has survived for two hundred and fifty years and have now determined why the Time Takers brought them back. If giant carnivores and other humans aren’t enough, they are going to have to face an advanced alien species coming to kill them. The Aliens will have to wait, as the Archers and Fliers fight to Tame a Planet. Excerpt from: Taming a Planet Suddenly Harmony’s eyes turned to slits and she started shaking her head, “Oh my God!” “What?” She spun around and looked behind her and started talking fast, “I didn’t think we’d get this far so quickly.” “What’s going on, Harmony?” “We’re in the middle of a huge Raptor Colony. We lost most of our group here and Singer and I were lucky to have gotten away.” Andy raised both hands and Dinah lifted her head. Andy noticed that the wind was blowing out of the north from straight behind them. Dinah went to her back legs and looked in all directions. Andy saw the first Raptors moving out of the tree line behind them. There were more moving out from in front and on the sides. Andy lifted the whistle and blew it. There were more than a hundred Raptors moving in on them but half of them stopped and fled back into the tree lines. “It looks like those remaining haven’t gone to school.” “What are we going to do?” Andy saw that running was not an option. He looked at Dinah and started removing the saddle and pouches. She was trembling and knew that Andy was not going to ride her out. He put the gear on the ground and put both hands out palms down. Dinah immediately went to her belly and lowered her head. Andy walked to one side and said, “I hope you know how to use that thing.” “It makes a loud noise. Put your hand on Dinah and don’t let her panic. I’ll take a couple of shots now so she can get used to the noise.” Andy put his hand on Dinah’s head and rubbed it as Harmony raised the thing called a rifle and aimed it at a Raptor more than a hundred and fifty yards away. There was a sudden explosion and Andy had to fight to keep Dinah on the ground. Another explosion and Dinah jerked but stayed down. Three more explosions and Dinah flinched but didn’t get up. Andy took his bow off his shoulder and turned to the north. He stared firing at the Raptors moving in and they began falling. He saw five Raptors lying in the dirt to the south twitching. She was good with that thing. The Raptors started their charge and Andy took out eight moving in from the south. He saw the majority of the others were coming from the north. He yelled, “UP!” Dinah jumped to her feet and Andy grabbed Harmony and threw her on Dinah’s back. “Hold on to the rope!” “I CAN’T LEAVE YOU!!” “I can’t fight them with you here.” Andy hit Dinah on the back and yelled, “Go!” Dinah sprinted away and Harmony barely had time to sling the rifle over her shoulder before Dinah was at full speed. She blew by the five Raptors to the south and Andy smiled. He continued to fire his bow but the Raptors were closing in quickly. Excerpt: Trapped in Time-Extinction . He ran back to her and grabbed her hand. He pulled her over to the wall and whispered, “Can you climb the wall?” “Not without getting splinters in my hands.” Tyler followed Olivia up the wall and grabbed her hand. He pulled her forward and began jogging on top of the wall toward the north. Olivia saw the large backpack the man was carrying and wondered what was in it. She saw Destroyer Warriors on the ground below them but they didn’t look up. The uniform she wore had soles built into the feet. The soles were soft and they ran without making any noise. They covered a quarter of a mile when an almighty roar suddenly deafened Tyler. He stopped running, went to a knee, and pulled his red blaster. He looked over the wall and saw the T-Rex running toward them from the south. “I’m going to kill that lizard!” Olivia went a knee as well and her heart went into her throat as the giant carnivore was running toward them through the brush next to the wall. It was going to be on them in moments. Tyler raised the beam gun and aimed at the Rex but it didn’t pause as it ran past them. It did look in their direction briefly, but that was all. Tyler lowered the blaster and shook his head. It was at that moment that he was shaken by a roar that shook the wall they were kneeling on. Tyler jerked his head back to the south and was stunned by what he saw. He whipped the whistle out of his shirt and blew it. The Spinosaurus didn’t even pause as it continued moving toward them. “Oh Crap!” Olivia looked at Tyler, “What?!” “This one is a rogue and doesn’t recognize the whistle! Run!” Tyler grabbed her hand and pulled her. The roar was deafening and the giant was moving quickly toward them. It wasn’t as fast as the T-Rex but it wasn’t slow. Its smooth gait was eating up ground and it was going to be on them in moments. Tyler came to a sudden stop and grabbed Olivia, preventing her from falling. Destroyer Warriors were scrambling up on the wall and running toward them. Tyler looked back toward the oncoming giant and saw more warriors were climbing the wall to the south. He shook his head and pulled Olivia over to the edge of the wall. “Climb over the edge and drop to the ground.” Olivia looked at the approaching Spinosaurus and started shaking her head. Tyler grabbed her chin and forced her to look at him, “You agreed, no hesitation!” Tyler pulled her over the edge and he scrambled down to the ground. She tried to follow him but lost her grip halfway down.
