Librarian's Note: An alternate cover for this ASIN can be found here. Corey Sheffield isn't your typical man. He's been to hell and back, but made the most out of it. He owns a successful car dealership in Beaumont, Texas, and typically stays under the radar. His personal life has had struggles that only the strong can survive. However, some of the demons he's had to battle, has killed even the strong on occasion. His mother is doing a ten-year sentence in prison for murder, his sister April, is also doing a bid in prison for attempted murder, and his brother is a backstabbing jackass. Unfortunately, his childhood was engulfed with sex and drugs, which caused the sever of the already strained relationship he had with his dad. With all his family troubles, the one person that should make it all better is his wife, Danielle. That couldn't be further from the truth, though. Danielle is the one person that can take Corey as high as the clouds, and as low as the fiery pits of hell. Their marriage was doomed from the beginning, but Corey couldn't imagine his life without her. After Danielle found out about his betrayal and involvement in the attacks on her life, she ran. Corey didn't let her rest until he was back in her life. Now that they were married and had a son, he wondered if he'd made the right decision. Despite his attempts to make their marriage perfect, Danielle seems to always find a reason why it isn't. Will Corey make the right decisions regarding his family when temptation is all around him or will he succumb to the pressures threatening to destroy him?

Starting with poetry, writing has always been a constant in Monica's life. The interest began in her teenage years, being in love for the first time. Her love for writing has only progressed. Song lyrics and poetry led to short stories, then one day in her down time, a short story became a 56k word novel. It has been non-stop since then. Being a wife and mother, has only added to the joys of Monica's life. Attaining a BS in Sociology, helping her better understand people and their behaviors, has only helped her become a better writer, understanding characters and their complex personalities. Romance of all types has been her passion, and she plans to continue honing her skills in that genre.
