El «Nueva Georgia» es un magnífico barco que realiza la travesía desde Japón a Australia con un cargamento de 12 enormes tigres. A cargo de la nave se encuentra el capitán Hill, que es acompañado por su hija Anna, de apenas 16 años, y cuenta con una tripulación de 30 hombres entre los que se encuentran el teniente Collin y el viejo piloto Asthor. Durante la travesía rescatan a un náufrago que dice llamarse Bill pero cuya actitud levanta las sospechas del teniente Collin. Bill convence al capitán para que cambie el rumbo y se dirija a una isla infestada de caníbales salvajes para rescatar al resto de sus compañeros.
