Long before contemporary vampire novels became big, were these (sometimes forgotten) vampire stories. Many of the stories in this collection are considered to be a major influence on modern vampire authors like Anne Rice, Laurell K. Hamilton, and Stephenie Meyer. This collection also includes an easy to navigate index. Included in this collection is The Vampyre (which is considered to be the first work of prose in the genre), Carmilla, Dracula, Dracula's Guest, and The House of the Vampire.
