Vashon Island’s residents struggle to cope with their new reality. Amidst starvation, death, and the destruction of society, they are forced to deal with criminals turned pirates and raiders and a foreign army occupying their home under the guise of humanitarian aid. Niko, along with his family and neighbors, band together to not only survive but also to help the beleaguered United States military drive the Chinese invaders out of Washington State. To succeed, they and their fellow islanders must stand together, or they will all surely fall. It will take everything they have to stand against the forces arrayed against them, but new allies rise to help in the fight, and together, they will do whatever is needed to keep America free and save their homes.
