Born in north-central Ohio in 1961, Vonda Maxwell Newsome spent her childhood in Fairfield, a small southwestern town about 20 miles north of Cincinnati. She is the last-born of four children. Her parents were both schoolteachers and she is the only college graduate among her siblings. She’s a wife, mother, grandmother, U.S. Army veteran, registered nurse, and worked several years as a legal secretary. Throughout her jobs/careers and significant life changes, she has enjoyed writing poems and stories and sharing them with family and friends, and has long dreamed of writing and publishing a book. She hasn’t gotten through life on her looks, but rather with her ability to laugh. She’d rather laugh than eat! Her passions are photography, writing, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. The first light her grandchildren saw was the flash of her camera, and she hasn’t stopped capturing those precious, fleeting moments since (even when the subjects try to hide from the camera). In Itchy Nipples And Anxiety: My Life Is A Comedy Of Perils, Vonda unapologetically shares much of her personal history in quite a candid, sometimes brutally honest, manner—the good, the bad, the embarrassing, and the hilarity!
