Tex saves the person, but—Hank—the man responsible for the shootout puts a gun to the head of his dog Lightning. Hank claims that the person he is after robbed the local bank, but the person professes their innocence. Unable to do anything for fear that Lightning will be shot, Tex lets the accused go, but is tied up so he does not interfere anymore. Suspecting something is up, Tex has Whirlwind and Lightning chew through his bonds to free him. He then follows after Hank's trail and finds that he has gathered a lynch mob to hang the person he accused of robbing the bank. Tex is surprised when the sombrero is removed revealing the accused as a girl named Rosalita. He sends his horse Whirlwind ahead and Hank thinks the horse got away from its master and decides to use it to hang Rosalita. However when he mounts the girl on the horse, Tex appears and fires his gun at the rope cutting the girl loose. Tex confronts Hank and challenges him to a fight, when Hank tries to get the rest of the lynch mob does not wish to side with him now that Tex Dawson has issue with the situation. Hank agrees to fight it out, tossing his guns aside. However as he approaches Tex, Rosalita spots him pulling another gun out of his coat. She throws a rock at him, knocking the gun out of his hand. Tex then easily beats Hank and shakes him upside down causing the stolen money to fall out of his pants. With Rosalita cleared of all charges, Tex and his animal companions rides away.
