UPDATE: The full collection of six Dark Crossings shorts can now be found in Dark Crossings Volume 2 at one low price. www.amazon.com/dp/B0095PJOC6/ For fans of "Yesterday's Gone" and "Dexter," comes a killer with no remorse and just two rules. From the writers of the post-apocalyptic serial thriller, Yesterday's Gone, comes this Dark Crossings short story featuring Yesterday's Gone's fan favorite, serial killer Boricio Wolfe in this solo outing which takes place before the events of Yesterday's Gone. WHAT WOULD BORICIO DO? (FATHER OF THE YEAR) Boricio Wolfe abides by only two rules: 1) Always use the best ingredients when cooking. 2) Don't shit where you eat. The only way a serial killer can keep a (somewhat) normal life is to stick to the rules—especially the second one. Boricio has finally found a job that doesn't make him homicidal, and is working his way to working in the restaurant of his dreams. All he has to do is keep out of trouble and impress Mr. Jules, a man who owns some of the best restaurants in the state. And Boricio is on the fast track to being a top chef... if he just sticks to the rules. But how long can Boricio stick to those rules when a young kid with an abusive father comes into his restaurant, just begging to be killed? Because nothing sets Boricio off quite like abusive fathers. Should he turn a blind eye? Should he just leave well enough alone? Or should he give the kid an early Christmas gift and kill his prick of a father? What Would Boricio Do? (11,498 words) WARNING: What Would Boricio Do? is an adult story with adult depictions of violence and sexual activity. This work is meant for adults only. This is a story where a serial killer/rapist is the main character. He is vile, crude, and a monster. If this isn’t your cup of tea, stop reading now because you WILL be offended. Really, REALLY offended. If you think that vulgarity is a sign of ignorance, then this book is gonna be a whole lotta duh, duh, and more duh. You might even be tempted to save anyone from buying such trash by writing one star reviews and writing about how we’re monosyllabic monkeys who are ruining literature as you know it. Which is how we know we’re writing good shit. If you’re still here, welcome! You get us. You get that while bad words aren’t necessary, sometimes they are—especially when you’re writing about monsters. Because there’s only one thing worse than a book full of profanity, and that’s a book where Boricio says, “Isn’t that some beer battered bull doody?” We hope you enjoy this look at Boricio before the events of Yesterday’s Gone: Episode 1 as much as we enjoyed writing it! Thank you for reading, Sean and David
