Though Billy the Kid and his gang were long gone, rustlers, robbers, and killers haunted this rich gold town every night of the week. Belle La Mar’s Little Casino Saloon is where dozens of them hung out. The No Scum Allowed Saloon just up the street was the safest saloon for locals who just wanted to have a drink and talk. A gang of better than twenty cut-throat outlaws gave the only deputy one hour to get out of town, which he did, leaving the town with no law.
