Mirna Funk works as a journalist, author and copy-writer. She lives in both Germany and Israel. Born in Berlin in 1981, Funk majored Philosophy and History at Humboldt-University. She conducts articles, essays and copy for various magazines, newspapers and brands like NEON, NIDO, ZEIT Magazin and Süddeutsche Magazin. Her debut novel Winternähe was published in July 2015 by S. Fischer Verlage. It was awarded with the "Uwe Johnson prize" for emerging writers and nominated for the "aspekte literature prize" for "best debut novel" as well. Mirna Funk was invited by the Dutch Literature Foundation to stay at a writer-residency in Amsterdam from April 1 till May 15, by the PEN Belgium to live in Antwerp from June 1 till June 30 and by the Goethe Institute Finnland to work in Tampere from October 1 till October 31 2016.
